Important Information to Customers and Users From 11:59pm on Tuesday 7th September, all of New Zealand outside of Auckland moves to Covid Alert Level 2 (L2). Port Marlborough has moved all its operational protocols in line with L2 requirements. Please note the following. Business at Alert Level 2 During L2 most businesses can open their premises or sites if they can do so safely. Recreational boating is permitted under L2 and Marlborough Sounds Marinas continues to open all marina facilities. The government advises that L2 is not entirely business as usual and there are some restrictions and other measures that will need to be in place to reduce the risk of transmission. Here are the Government’s rules for business in L2: Reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission at work. All businesses can operate if they can do so safely. Alternative ways of working are encouraged where possible. Talk with your staff to identify risks and ways to manage them. Ask everyone — workers, contractors and customers — with cold or flu-like symptoms to stay away from your premises. Keep workers 1 metre apart and customers in retail businesses 2 metres apart. Keep groups of customers at least 1 metre apart, or 2 metres for retail businesses. Face Coverings are legally mandated in many situations and are strongly encouraged when physical distancing is not possible. Businesses are legally required to display a QR code and provide an alternative contact tracing system. Face coverings are strongly encouraged if you are in close contact with others. Port Marlborough Reception Port Marlborough reception at Auckland Street will be open from Thursday 9th September, with physical distancing measures in place. Visitors are required to wear a face covering. However, Alert Level 2 is not life as normal and we still need to play it safe. Please note and adhere to the following guidelines when in the marinas: If you’re unwell, stay home. Don’t socialise. Do not come to the marina. Keep a 2 metre space between yourself and anyone from outside your bubble. Use jetty fingers if required to enable physical distancing on the main jetty walkway. We encourage you to wear a face-covering mask while on the jetties. Only one customer group will be permitted in the Marina customer Service centre at any given time. Customers will be required to wear a face-covering mask while in the marina office. If ablution facilities are in use, please wait outside Sanitise your hands upon entering any marina facilities or prior to using any marina equipment. Hand sanitising will be provided at the entrance of each marina facilities including jetties, ablution facilities and pay & display machine. Please use it. If you require work to be undertaken on your boat in the marina or Waikawa hardstand by a contractor, please contact your marina office for a list of approved Marlborough Sounds Marina registered contractors who have a Covid-19 Safe Work Plan in place. https://marlboroughmarinas.co.nz Port Services and Entrance Please note all businesses intending to continue operations within port common user areas must provide a Covid-19 Safe Work Plan to ensure their safe operation. The plan will demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Government Alert Level 2 information. A template can be found here on the WorkSafe website (Click Here) and should be submitted to the PMNZ Health and Safety team by emailing Erin.Price@pmnz.co.nz Picton Harbour Radio (PHR) and Port Services duties will continue to operate 24/7. Please contact PHR prior to vessel arrival. They will advise you on the facility you can use. Please note the following: • Port Services interaction will only be by phone or intercom • Visitors will be denied access unless an online induction has been completed • The Lagoon Road visitor induction Kiosk will be out of service until further notice. All users requiring to be inducted must either complete online or by arrangement with the Port Services Administrator. • Port Services will be offering limited shuttle services in accordance with MNZ guidelines • Full operational induction is by appointment only (Calling the Port Administrator) PH 027 2748 766.
