Notification for all Port Users – please forward to your drivers / employees who use the port. From 6am – Monday 3rd March, a new traffic management system will be installed at the Port entrance and Bluebridge intersection by way of traffic lights. This temporary system is being run as a trial to gauge any benefits or disadvantages of a strongly controlled intersection with the goal of ensuring the safe operational process of loading the Strait Shipping ferries and managing traffic entering/exiting the Port. The traffic lights will be managed by a professional traffic management company – TruGroup, and will be operational from Monday to Friday, during the morning, noon and afternoon Bluebridge sailings only. The diagram below shows the location of the temporary traffic light system. Following this trial Port Marlborough will consider what steps are needed next to ensure safe operations within this area.
