This afternoon there was an incident in the Port whereby a KiwiRail locomotive and wagon entered the water by the linkspan at Berth Two. Nobody has been injured in this incident. “We are now supporting KiwiRail and the Harbour Master in the recovery of this plant. Our two priorities are the Health and Safety of our people and all Port Users, as well as our Environment. The Port was temporarily closed while the situation was assessed and the scene secured.
